Currently I’m working on several ongoing photographic projects.
Unintended Spaces (2020 -)
I’ve lived in the centre of a large city for almost twenty years. During that time I’ve enjoyed watching the city change, grow and evolve. Most of the big changes occur with a lot of consideration and intent – for example, the design and construction of a new building or the creation of new public spaces.
At the same time, these large changes regularly create unintended small changes, either out of chance or necessity. Large shopping arcades require small service lanes, bridges require pylons. The space between one towering office block and the next, for example, can evolve into something fascinating.
Unintended spaces is an exploration of what happens between, behind, above and below the intentions that create and build our cities.
